About Putaruru

Putaruru is home to the culturally significant natural wonder, the Blue Spring, which is located on Te Waihou Walkway. Nestled in rural New Zealand, Putāruru is the source of the majority of the country’s bottled water from the Blue Spring. Nearby dairy and timber processing industries continue to thrive here. Surrounded by natural bush reserves; lakes and New Zealand’s longest riverside cycling trail, Putāruru is rich in untapped potential for the astute investor. The recently completed Community Concept Plan, envisages significant future growth with the planned development of over 800 new homes; a large Greenfield Business Park and population expected to rise by 40%.

The Development

The land encompasses approximately 30 hectares of residentially zoned land. This land has been approved for 328 HUE’s (Housing unit equivalents). A HUE is based on a three bedroom or greater dwelling. By incorporating a mixture of tenure including one, two- and three-bedrooms standalone homes, duplexes and terrace housing that developer will be ably to increase the number of dwellings to approximately 430-450 whilst remaining within the approved number of HUE’s.

The proposed development will have stand alone homes in the first two stages and future stages will containing comprehensive areas (duplex etc.) as well as approximately 6 hectares set aside for a retirement village / independent living village.

Why build at Putaruru

Ultimate Global Builders will be the primary builder of house and land packages in Putaruru. UGB currently have build teams in both Hamilton and Tauranga that would be able to construct homes in this development. Between the two teams we will have approximately 75 homes under construction this year.

The proposed home for stage one will be a mix of three and four bedroom stand alone single level dwellings. This home will be similar in design and size to the existing dwellings that we are currently building in our River Road development in Ngaruawhia.
